Playing slots refers to playing slot machines -- whether in real life or playing online. With the modern computer, there have been many new variations on the old mechanical slot machines from decades ago. When the casinos know that you are spending much on the slot machines, they are more likely to give you complementary perks from the casino (such things as "free" drinks, hotel rooms or dinners). The downside is the casinos do this with the hopes that you will continue spending money at their casino.

Online slot gaming can be just as fun, albeit without the "perks" the casinos may offer you. One does not have to travel to Vegas or to the local river boat casino to play slots anymore. Its just as easy as looking for a link on a website or searching a search engine like Google to find and "go to" a casino to play slots.
